Seven days....

1 september 2015 - Cambridge, Verenigd Koninkrijk

No I don't have only seven days left I just have been here in Cambridge for seven days. It feels like I've been here for so much longer due to all the new experiences I already had and all the activities I already did.

As I said in my previous blog, I did not have anything planned for the last two days and it went according to that plan. I played some games on my laptop, read two weeks with the Queen (one of the books I have to read for school this year), and explored the Tesco.

During my time exploring the Tesco I found a little book called "Did you know? Cambridge A Miscellany". The book is full of fascinating facts, ghost stories, sports, recipes and some regional dialect. I still have to read most of it but I wanted to share some regional dialect with you guys. For example, they use mizzle for mist and backerds for backwards. The phrase 'in and out like a dog at a fair'  means being busy, hurrying about and 'thin as a yard of pump water' and 'straight as a pound of candles' is used to describe someone very tall and thin.

Today I had an appointment with the teacher I am going to help during my stay here. My host was so kind to drop me off by car since it was raining so that was really nice. The teacher told me a lot about what a normal day looks like and what Steiner his philosophy of education is. She also showed me around the school and introduced me to a couple of other teachers. Coming Thursday and Friday we will have an induction with all the staff, where we are going to learn about safety and anti-bullying but also will have a day for team-building. I am really looking forward to that!  The rest of the day was filled with cleaning my room, get some extra sleep since the dog went crazy last night and relaxing.

For tomorrow I'm planning on finding a swimming pool where I can train and I'll probably go to the Fitzgerald museum. So I'll probably post something on Thursday or Friday again, when I have more things to tell and show.

Love,

Nina

He Nina, mooi te horen dat je genoeg te doen hebt daar, het zal nog wel steeds wennen zijn maar daar kom jij wel mee door. Heb je een zwembad gevonden voor je training en ontspanning? het ga je goed daar en tot gauw...
